HCL, Symantec to address cloud security, cyber threats

Noida, Feb 22 (IANS): Software services provider HCL and US software security firm Symantec Corporation on Monday expanded their partnership to help enterprises in the areas of cloud security, cyber threats and forensic solutions.

The aim is to help enterprises better meet their information and risk management needs by building a cyber-resilient service that safeguards them from targeted attacks and persistent threats, said a statement.

"We are seeing movement of critical workloads to cloud and clients expect enterprise grade security aligned with it," said Kalyan Kumar, senior vice president and chief technologist-ITO, HCL Technologies.

"Working with Symantec, we have transformed our security portfolio to provide customers with comprehensive capabilities against cyber-threats and cyber-attacks with products like Advanced Threat Protection, Data Security and Cloud Security solutions from the Symantec portfolio," Kumar added.

According to the "Cyberthreat Defense Report 2015", 70 percent of respondents' networks were breached in 2014. A data breach can have serious consequences, including erosion of brand reputation and loss of shareholder value.

"Our endeavour HCL is aimed at enabling our clients to have greater visibility into the threats in their environments," added Anirban Chakravartti, head, global alliances, Symantec Corporation.
