JD-U Haryana president booked for illegal mining


Gurgaon, Feb 24 (IANS): Rao Kamalbir Singh, the Janata Dal-United president in Haryana, has been booked for illegal mining here in Haryana, police said on Wednesday.

A resident of Gurgaon and younger brother of Haryana cabinet minister Rao Narbir Singh, Kamalbir has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Police registered the case following the complaint of a mining official after Kamalbir Singh and two accomplices failed to produce supporting papers regarding stored building material.

"Stones and dust in huge quantity were recovered from Singh's farm house in Gairatpur Bass village in the Aravali foothills," a senior police officer told IANS.
