Mumbai, Sep 20: Women who travel by local trains late in the night may soon get additional security said Home Minister RR Patil. Patil said that more women constables will be deployed on local trains.

The announcement was made by Patil while speaking to Shiv Sena’s women’s wing led by Sena spokesperson and legislator Neelam Gorhe.

The delegation pointed out to the minister a recent incident where a woman was attacked on a Titwala-bound local. The victim, who was found nude and bleeding by the Railway police, died before reaching hospital.

Patil assured the delegation of an inquiry into the matter. He said that special security arrangements will be made on local trains after 10 in the night, especially to make women passengers feel safe.
