125 crore people will take my examination tomorrow: Modi on Budget 2016

New Delhi, Feb 28 (PTI) : “I have an exam tomorrow,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the 17th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, referring to presentation of the General Budget in Parliament.

Modi made the statement while advising students appearing for board exams, for which he even roped in sports icons like Sachin Tendulkar and Vishwanathan Anand.

Modi said he was “full of confidence” ahead of his “examination” by 125 crore people, a trait which he wanted students to emulate when they appear for their examinations for Class X and XII, starting on Tuesday.

In his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, he emphasised that students should appear for the exams with a “positive approach” having a free and calm mind without any anxiety. He also asked parents not to put pressure on children.

“Friends, your exams are starting. I too have an exam tomorrow. The country’s 125 crore people are going to take my examination,” the Prime Minister said.

“But you must have seen how healthy I am feeling, how full of confidence I am. Let my exams take place tomorrow and yours day after and may all of us succeed so that the nation succeeds...Move ahead with a free mind, without any tension of success or failure,” he said in his 35-minute programme.

To lay stress on a positive and tension-free approach, Modi roped in Sachin, Anand besides Bharat Ratna scientist CNR Rao and spiritual leader Murari Bapu, whose messages were played during the programme.

The guests gave their own examples of how they approached exams in their respective fields, keeping tension aside.

Bhakts are hilarious. Let's discuss the economy. Atleast UPA created an robust economic condition despite world recession. Now we have a PM who seems to be taking Indian Economy Downhill.

They are saying that rupee is going to hit 73/USD. If only promises could turn into reality. I want UPA back, atleast they knew what they were doing.

Though everybody's life situations are different,
All have their own angle to analyze the pros and cons to them of your being PM of the country viz-a-viz some other candidate available as of now.

    What a classic comment.

Let's blame the ruling party for everything right?

A basic knowledge of economics would tell you modi or any ruling part has nothing to do with the exchange rates, the dollars rates are skyrocketing thanks to china devaluation, which has impacted the Indian trade to China and resulted in currency fluctuation across the world.

Tomorrow is Rajan, wants he can announce that from today 1$ = 1re or whatever, But they wont, why? Because each and every stock market will crash and so will people loose their jobs, banks will go bankrupt. Companies will wind up from India, and set up business in other countries where they get a better exchange rate.

    Everything happens for a reason.

Before, just bluntly commenting get some knowledge.

During MMS time whenever Rupee crossed 60 a $ mainly due to increase in crude oil prices, BJP big mouths like Harvard Swamy used to yell 'It's due pressure from world bank and IMF' rupee is devalued. Now with oil prices at rock bottom, blame it on Yuan.. And still every now and then we hear statements like 'Ours is the only economy that's immune to the global economic turmoil' followed by some nonsensical growth rate predictions!

You are totally wrong, one can depreciate ones currency to be competitive but cannot appreciate unless there is sufficient reserves, $1 = Rs1 will happen only when one has so much equivalent reserves and strength of exports. Thanks God there is a lot of remittance comes which acts as indirect export.

While in opposition, BJP told that the exemption limit for income tax should be 5 lakhs. They had on two budgets, did not raise to that level. Now, with cost of living going up and standard of living coming down, at least if they bring the exemption to that level, people will say, yes, the examination result is positive.

And I am dead sure chaiwala knows of this very well. But he wants to do a U turn and gain sympathy and think people have a soft corner for him.
