Mangalore, Sep 21: The annual sarvajanika Ganeshotsava celebrations organized by Hindu Yuva Sene came to a colourful end on Friday September 21 night.
The famous Ganeshotsava celebrations being held at Nehru Maidan here are organized by Hindu Yuva Sene for the last 14 years. This was for the 15 year in succession that celebrations were held. Thousands of devotees thronged to Nehru Maidan, sought blessings from Lord Ganesha after participating in various rituals and pujas.
Later a beautiful idol of Lord Ganesha was taken on a procession around the city roads before being immersed in Shri Mahammayi Temple pond at Car Street late in the night. Fascinating and educative tableaux by various organizations, dance by well-known troupes added flavour to this devotional celebration.
