Mangalore, Sep 22: Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi’s resignation has been demanded by the Shree Rameshwara Shree Rama Sethu Rakshana Samithi here on Thursday September 20.
Addressing the news conference, the Committee convener of the Samithi Jagadish Shenava stated that M Karunanidhi’s statement questioning the existence of Lord Rama has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus and hence he must either apologize to the Hindu majority or resign form his post. If this does not happen then the committee will stage an intense nation wide protest, he threatened.
Shenava said that the way of life of Hindus, their tolerance has made people over the centuries to subject then to injustice. Does Karunanidhi or Sonia Gandhi or PM have the power to mete out such action on any other religion? The Samithi demanded that central government must apologise for having backed such a move. They also demanded that both AICC president Sonia Gandhi and PM Man Mohan Singh must resign on this issue.
