Mangalore, Sep 22: Jawaharlal Nehru Centenary Energy Performance Award for 2008 has been given to Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).
According to a press release from MRPL, MD Rajamani received the silver trophy from Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Murali Deora. The award is conferred upon Indian refineries by the Centre for High Technology (CHT) which comes under the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gases, after monitoring and evaluating their annual energy performance.
The award was presented in the presence of P&NG secretary M S Srinivasan IAS, chairman of the scientific advisory committee of MoP&NG M B Lal, CHT director B D Ghosh at Thiruvananthapuram here recently. This award is won by MRPL for the fourth consecutive time.
