Mangalore, Sep 22: An Eicher tempo carrying pigs from Hubli to Padav in Neermarga went off the road and rolled on a house near Neermarga injuring two persons including the driver on Saturday September 22 morning.
The identity of the injured is not yet known. Sources said that there were a total of 8 persons in the tempo. As the tempo was moving on a slope near Neermarga, driver lost control over it owing to a sudden brake failure.
As a result tempo went off the road and fell on the house of one Rama Poojari around 10 am on Saturday September 22. Meanwhile out of the 8 persons travelling on the tempo, 6 managed to escape unhurt while two persons including the driver were caught inside and sustained serious injuries.
But owing to the timely intervention of Kadri fire personnel, a major tragedy was averted. Meanwhile all the pigs which were in the tempo ran in the nearby village after the accident causing some anxious moments to the people.
