Indian equity markets up on Wednesday


Mumbai, Mar 2 (IANS): The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Wednesday opened on a positive note during the morning session of the trade.

The Sensex of the BSE after opening at 24,044.96 points touched a high of 24,210.62 points and a low of 24,043.89points.

On Tuesday the Sensex closed at 23,779.35 points.

The Sensex is trading at 24,087.78 points, up by 308.43 points, or 1.30 percent.

On the other hand the broader 50-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 7,321.70 points after closing at 7,222.30 points on Tuesday.

The Nifty is trading at 7,312.60 points in the morning.
