BSF chief to review security after discovery of tunnel in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 4 (IANS): BSF Director General D.K. Pathak will be here on Friday to take stock of security on the international border following the discovery of a 50-metre long tunnel in R.S. Pura sector of Jammu district.

A patrol party of the Border Security Force (BSF) had on Thursday discovered a 50-metre long tunnel at AMK (Allah Mai Kothay) area in R.S. Pura sector.

"The underground tunnel was 50-metre long with the other end leading into the Pakistan side of the international border," an official of the BSF said here.

"It had a height of three to four feet. The objective of the tunnel had been to facilitate infiltration into the state from across the border. We have filled up the tunnel on our side and lodged a strong protest with Pakistan rangers," the official added.
