Modi losing connect with youth, says Chetan Bhagat

New Delhi, Mar 4  (IANS) : Celebrated author Chetan Bhagat, who has long been speaking in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was losing popularity because of his disconnect with the youth of India.

The bestselling author, in a series of tweets, lashed out at the government for allegedly failing to fulfill election promise of generating jobs for youth.

"You know PM is losing connect with the youth when a young student's speech from JNU is being talked about more than any 'Mann Ki Baat'," Bhagat tweeted.

The series of Bhagat tweets came after front pages of Delhi-based newspapers were splashed with Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union leader Kanhaiya Kumar's Thursday night speech at the university campus.

"(The) BJP promised reforms for huge job growth but is resorting to UPA style populism. What about the youth they charged up before elections," the author wrote.

In another tweet, he drew a parallel between Kanhaiya Kumar and Gujarat political activist Hardik Patel who has been demanding job quota for the Patidar caste.

"Hardik Patel, Kanhaiya Kumar - youth desperate for new leader who can relate to them, talks to them and takes questions. Why (the) govt doesn't," Bhagat wrote.

    Stan,
You mean to say NaMo is loosing contact, and SIDDANNA is gaining contact, Isn't it.
I hope you know what happened in Panchayat elections in Udupi??. NaMo vote base was Urban mass, but now due to his famous schemes, rural mass is aligning towards NaMo.
By being in power, your waste in-charge ministers couldn't win Panchayat elections. How can you speak about NaMO??.
Let's be fair, it's only two years after NaMo took over. Let's wait for another 2 years, we will get a clean picture. Who has lost who's HOPES.

..It happens..He is PM, he cant roam easily..He cant visit places, do rallies often when governing country..He is a political punter, no one can predict his move..politically on governance he has upper hand so far, thats why day in & out you can only see nonsense issues like ROHIT/KANNAIYA/INTOLERANCE so on, No debate on core issues like BUDGET..Not a single bad mark on governance..all are fabricated, exaggerated issues(NDTV still running JNU/KANNAIYA story, god only knows what kind of journalism they are following)..you can see him meeting everyone in last one year of his tenure..its his tactics as CM earlier, 4 years for governance 1 year for politics..i think if politician follow his method, by this time India/Indians would have been economically better position..

Connect with the youth was necessary in 2014. Now Raath gayi baath gyai. At this stage of the game connect with rich and the mighty is what needs to be maintained. As for youth and vast middle class, it's enough to reestablish the connection in 2019.

The Youth needs a young visionary leader. Rahul is young but he talks like an old man. Modi is old and talks like an old man. There is no alternative. AAP could have been a good alternative but they have also too many loose canons.

To get jobs we need to create Industries and make the doing business easier..To Create Industries we wanted Land bill amendment act which was stalled by Congee in the Rajyasabha .That was the first road block
    2. To make business easy GST bill That again has been blocked by Congee
Neverthless Modiji will work work and work for the Development of India and I am sure God will make him get newer methods to get the things going like the way he made the land bill reform make through by putting ball in the court of State Govts and hence where ever BJP is ruling will see faster development .

Dr. Kamath, so you're telling if Congress looted the country, BJP have the right to loot as well. People were fed up with congress and hence voted for BJP and what it is doing?? BTW, you talked about 60 years, can you tell me what Atalji dis during the previous NDA?? Coffin scam!!.. what about Deve Gowda, Morarji Desai, Charan Singh, Chandrasekar, VP Singh and Gujral?? Can you point out the achievements?? Forget the centre, lets talk about states, did BJP ruled, UP, Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharastra, Gujarat, Himachal, MP and Karnataka for some time??Did they made any of the states Singapore of India. If you blindly support, then there is no difference between you and congress workers who blindly voted for it for generations. This JNU, and Hyderabad incident clearly shows that RSS and ABVP have some agenda to make people believe in them and get more votes. What happened to all rath yatras now?? What happened to those bricks and money collected in the name of Ayodhya to which I also donated, any answers??

PM to come each one's house & colleges and give you jobs. He is creating opportunities, please take the use of it positively. Stop blaming everything to MODI Ji.
Only those people who have nothing other work to do in this earth, scratching their backs, blame MODI Ji for everything.

    Rahul is not the PM.
We should talk\discuss about our PM - how he is doing, how he is progressing or failing with the promises he had made to the youth of the country, mainly.
Why divert attention from him to Rahul? Do you all need a scape-goat for the failures of Modiji?
That seems to be the case with most BJPeans here. When they see\read the failures of Modiji\BJP they resort to deflecting the attention from Modi\BJP to Rahul\Sonia.
After winning the election hands down with false promises, still both of them come in your dreams all the time, making all of you sweat!!!
No guts to face the truth of failure of the present Govt. and demand from the Govt. results as promised.

What alternative do we have? You tell me...
You want someone who talks a language which seems to be a cross
between Greek and Chinese to lead us then? What kind of a 'connect' has he got? That's the worrying factor..
Ran after Kannahaiya at the JNU and
the CNU at Hyderabad and sat sipping 'Sprite' in Delhi! What nonsense!
You should have an inspiring 'alternative' and a strong opposition..Is it not? Does Rahul inspire confidence...Tell me?
