Kanhaiya to campaign for Left in upcoming assembly polls

New Delhi, Mar 4 (PTI): Claiming that JNU students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar is an activist, leaders of Communist parties today said he will campaign for the Left Front in the five assembly poll-bound states.

"He (Kanhaiya Kumar) is a Left activist. As a Left activist, he will naturally campaign (for the parties). It is often said that youth is not attracted to the Left. What they have to say about yesterday's meeting in JNU?" CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said.

Kumar is a leader of All India Students' Federation (AISF), the students' wing of CPI. CPI national secretary D Raja said there is a demand for Kanhaiya to campaign in different parts of the country.

"As a student activist, political activist he is likely to campaign for us. There are demands for him to campaign in many places. We will have to see how it works out," Raja said.

West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will go to polls in April and May.

Kumar was arrested on the charge of sedition three weeks ago for allegedly raising anti-India slogans. The government's move had triggered a massive outcry in the country.

The JNUSU President was released yesterday from Tihar jail, after he granted interim bail for six months by the High Court on Wednesday on condition that he will cooperate in the ongoing investigation and has to present himself before the police as and when required.

Except Punjab, where AAP with the use of Kanhaiya might be able to use anti-incumbency factor against NDA, this is not going to work against NDA. Even in Punjab, AAP will eat in to Congress votes.

One may just check and see, is there anyone who supported Modi prior to 2014 changed his loyalty? Of course not, each time the ISI(intelectual sickular individuals) throw stone at us we build a strong fort around Modi and we are more proud of him as he comes passing out in your each tests. It's only those who dint vote for him show frustation because if all these things and once upon a time they had only Scamgress to support and now they have many such overnight sensations like Kejriwal, Hardik or this KK.
Today Indias political scenario is such that either you are with BJP or anti- BJP. Duffers do not understand Modi and Shah,s plans. Create lot of such sensations overnight as all these people will fight against Modi. They will fight for a share of those anti BJP votes which already is being fought by the team led by scamgress. At the end of the day who will be winners and who will be loosers? No prizes for guessing.

People, so you're telling if Congress looted the country, BJP have the right to loot as well. People were fed up with congress and hence voted for BJP and what it is doing?? BTW, you talked about 60 years, can you tell me what Atalji dis during the previous NDA?? Coffin scam!!.. what about Deve Gowda, Morarji Desai, Charan Singh, Chandrasekar, VP Singh and Gujral?? Can you point out the achievements?? Forget the center, lets talk about states, did BJP ruled, UP, Rajastan, Haryana, Maharastra, Gujarat, Himachal, MP and Karnataka for some time??Did they made any of the states Singapore of India. If you blindly support, then there is no difference between you and congress workers who blindly voted for it for generations. This JNU, and Hyderabad incident clearly shows that RSS and ABVP have some agenda to make people believe in them and get more votes. What happened to all rath yatras now?? What happened to those bricks and money collected in the name of Ayodhya to which I also donated, any answers?? BTW, Rajesh, do you know who is responsible Mangalore's brave son G Fernandes to move from Maharashtra to Bihar?? You perhaps to read his life story.

@Sunil D'souza , Udupi /dubai, Can I ask you what Singapore has that INDIA does not have?? Singapore was under British and then joined Malaysia and only in 1965. The area of whole Singapore is just 720 km Sq. What stops India becoming like Singapore, is it people like us or our great politicians or the combination of both because we have much more natural resources and man power than Singapore. Remember China was a backward country (even not developing) during 1960s with 1 or 2 people who could speak English and no MNCs went there but now it is the 2nd biggest economy of the world. So, stop fighting each other in the name of religion, region, politics, caste etc.. and work for the development of India rather than blaming British (who left 60 years ago) or for Congress and its corruptions. . Think of present day.

He emphasised in his speech that only the persons from poor family joining lower cadre of police and defence for poverty. But he never uttered a single word about the killings of these poor policemen by naxals and making their family orphans. He shouted AZADI from lot of things. He never uttered AZADI from naxals, because they are following the same ideology whice he believe. He never uttered a single word against AZADI from terrorism, becuase some of his colleagues are worshippers of terrorists like Afzal and Yacoub.

It will be a triangular contest in Punjab where it was either NDA or Congress once upon a time, now its NDA Vs AAP plus Congress. I do pay tax this is my first year paying coz it is my first job, I have no issues if it is used for good cause example like for studies/development and for welfare of the poor I have seen students how they struggle. If you were paying tax then you would have not objected.
