Mangalore, Sep 24: Environmental cleanliness programme was jointly organized by National Service Commission of Pompeii College, Aikala, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Yugapurusha Kinnigoli and Dharmasthala Rural Development Commission at Kinnigoli near here recently.

Fr Valerian Mendonca, principal of Pompei College inaugurated the programe. Bhuvanabhirama Udupa of Yugapursha Monthly Magazine, Raghava H of Dhramasthala Rural Development Commission, Savithri Shetty, president of Mennabettu Panchayat, Heric Pais , president of Rotary Club, Kinnigoli, Purushotam Shetty of Lions Club, Kinnigoli presided over the function.

In his inaugural speech, Fr Mendonca said that one's house as well as our surrounding should be kept clean and tidy.

He further said that children should also be given awareness regarding maintenance of environment at school levels.

Students of Pompei College actively took part in cleaning the surroundings from Little Flower School to Padmanoor in Kinnigoli.
