AYUSH Minister rejects 'Govt doesn't recruit Muslims as yoga trainers' report

New Delhi, Mar 12 (Zee News): AYUSH Minister Sripad Naik, Saturday, rejected the reports which claimed that his department did not recruit Muslims for short-term positions as trainers for World Yoga Day as it was against Government policy.

While addressing the media, Naik termed such reports doing the rounds as false, saying it was just an attempt to defame them. He further assured of a probe into the whole incident.

The Minister's reaction comes after a report published in 'The Huffington Post' said, the AYUSH Ministry, while responding to an RTI query, said that it did not hire Muslims teachers and trainers for the World Yoga Day held on October 15, 2015.

AYUSH is short form of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy, and is the Ministry that promotes these branches of traditional medicine.

The RTI application was filed by journalist Pushp Sharma, who sought to know, how many applied for the short-term assignment abroad for the World Yoga Day.

The report say the ministry 711 Muslim yoga trainers had applied, but none of them grabbed the job. The Ministry in its RTI reply said that 3841 Muslim candidates applied for the post of Yoga trainer/teacher but no one was selected.

..even if its propaganda, we can blame CONG#ES# for discouraging Muslims from YOGA and spreading a misconception that Muslims dont do YOGA..so the perception builds around this theory..just read news report for Congress leaders/siculars comments during INTL YOGA DAY & the whole mess they created..they almost try to brain wash the community saying MODI forcing to do YOGA as is communal or Haraam..when some one dont treat SUN as GOD, then how SURYANAMASKAR becomes haraam..let them treat namaskar as Hello not praying..but no, we will make them celebrate JAYANTI(haraam) but wont allow them to do YOGA a exercise(almost all Muslims nations participated)..there is moderate thinker in the community who always go silent whenever sickular parties tries to brain wash the community..a known communal is far better than a sickular for minorities..

It was propagated that "yoga" is a science for the well being of the mind and body Mr. Modi and the BJP wanted to spread that message around the world as the biggest contribution of India before taking over China as the manufacturing base for the whole world.
