11 migrants caught hiding in Thai tour bus

Bangkok, Mar 14 (IANS): Eleven illegal migrants were found hiding in the luggage compartment of a Bangkok-bound tour bus in Thailand's Mae Sot district on Monday.

The nine men and two women were found during a search at Ban Huay Hin Fon security checkpoint, the Bangkok Post reported.

The district shares a border with Myanmar and is known for illegal immigration.

None of them carried proper travel documents.

They were handed over the immigration office for further legal action and repatriation.

Thanathip Rattanakrachang, 48, the tour bus driver, was charged with bringing illegal migrant labour into the country.
