Mangalore, Sep 27: The well-known Nitte Education Trust will collaborate with the government for providing total healthcare facilities to the government Community Health Centre at Nitte, stated a press release from the Trust here on Wednesday September 26.
The president of the Nitte Education Trust N Vinay Hegde in the release however clarified that the Trust has no intention of taking over the community health centre. According to him the trust was providing healthcare services at the request of Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar.
The said health centre will be upgraded in the first phase for which the Nitte trust will spend close to Rs 33 lac stated the press release. It would provide facilities like ultra sound, ECG equipment etc. The operation theatre at the centre would be made functional.
The trust would provide healthcare facilities, which are not available at Nitte. A specialist from the hospital run by the trust from Mangalore would visit the centre daily. The trust would build an auditorium for a school at Nitte at a cost of Rs 16 lac, added the press release.
According to Vinay Hegde, two engineering colleges run by the trust in Nitte and Bangalore had been given autonomy by the government.
