Udupi, Sep 28: The voting was peaceful in most of the polling centre during the local body elections, held on Friday September 28, across the district. The voters turn out was around 65% during the polls.
The polling was withheld for almost half an hour at Perampalli polling centre when JD (S) activist alleged cross voting. Barring this stray incident, the polling was quite peaceful. The local leaders and MLA were found appeasing the voters to exercise their votes in favour of their party.
