Mumbai, Mar 19: 'Anath Bhurgo' (A Homeless Boy), a Konkani book written by Maharashtra Konkan Association founder president Leo Fernandes Jerimeri was inaugurated at St Jude Church, Jerimeri
auditorium, Kurla west recently.
St Jude Church parish priest Fr Lancy Pinto, inaugurating the book said that lacs of such homeless children are in the length and breadth of our country. We see them pleading for a meal. The work of
Leo Fernandes observing such incidents and sharing his experience in the form of a book is praiseworthy. The book written to help children in orphanages should be bought by one and all and make the dream of
the author a reality.
Leo Fernandes, author welcomed the gathering and in his keynote address said that the sale of a copy of the book will cover the cost of an orphan child for a week. Former president of Konkan association, Walter D'Souza, present president Benedicta B Rebello, John Veigas and others were present. Publisher Lilly L Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
The book was earlier inaugurated at the hometown of the author, Belthangadi by Ujire St Antony church parish priest Fr Joseph Mascarenhas. While requesting everybody to buy the book, he said that the purchase of the book is like contributing to Belthangadi Seon Ashrama. Seon Ashrama director Paulus, vice president, Stanly, secretary Lavina and Sr Monthy were present.
