Mangalore, Sep 30: According to initial reports filtering into the Daijiworld office in the city, poll indications show that out of 12 ward results declared so far BJP has taken a giant share of 8 seats while Congress has won 2 seats and remaining two seats have been taken by independent candidates.

However, state coalition partner JD(S) has made a poor show, with no seats bagged by them so far.

With regard to the Beltangady town panchayat, this time around since the ballot papers are used by the electorate instead of electronic voting machines, the results are comparatively delayed. According to the latest poll results declared, at the Beltangady TP , results of six wards out of eleven wards have been announced. Accordingly Congress has grabbed the lion’s share by winning five seats and while BJP has claimed one seat.

In Ullal constituency too the results are in favour of the Congress. Out of the total 27 seats, results of six seats have been declared, of which Congress has claimed three whereas BJP has bagged only one, which was won by its candidate unopposed and CPI (M) too had an opportunity to win one seat.

The results at the Mangalore area are awaited.

Let us wait for the final result of the Local Body elections for our entire state. Congress is in the First place, JDS is in the Second and BJP is in the Third place. Very nice news indeed! Congratulations to all the winners, not only in our two districts but in our entire state. Jai Hind.
