Mangalore, Sep 30: A meet on elderly persons will be held on Nehru Maidan on Monday October 1, informed the HelpAge India representative Ram Babu here on Saturday September 29.

Addressing the presspersons Ram Babu said that around 1,000 elderly people would take part in the meeting at the venue and a ‘Jatha’ will be organized to the deputy commissioner’s office.

A memorandum demanding extension of social pension to all elderly persons below poverty line would be handed over to the DC, he added.

On this occasion former MCC deputy mayor Abdul Saleem would be the chief guest.
