Mangalore, Sep 30: Results declared so far 40 clearly indicates BJP is heading towards a clear majority with 24 to BJP, 12 Congress, 2 Indp. 1 JD(S), 1 CPI (M).
With the counting reaching the half way stage, BJP is steadily marching towards a clear majority to finally clinch the centre stage at Mangalore City Corporations Elections.
The counting process is still going on. The complete results are expected latest by 7 pm local time.

Bendur: Ward No.38
Naveen D’Souza - Congress has bagged 1002 votes, K Praveen Chandra Nayak – BJP has got 440 votes, Alwyn Pinto- JD(S) has got 414 votes.
Hosebettu: Ward No.8
Rajini Duganna – BJP
Kullai: Ward No. 9
Ganesh Hosebettu – BJP 2220 votes
Opponent Satish Panambur – Congress 1750 votes

Udupi City Municipal Council Elections (CMC):
Udupi, Sep 30: In the case of all the 35 Wards here, the results have been declared. Out of these 35 wards, 28 have been won by the BJP, 6 by Congress and a lone independent candidate has bagged one seat.
In a shocking reversal of fortunes, former Udupi Congress vice president Ronald Praveen lost to his nearest BJP rival candidate Kiran Kumar by a wafer-thin margin of five votes.

Total seats: 60. Results declared 24. BJP 17, Congress 5, Ind 2
Ullal Municipality:
Total seats 27: Congress 17, BJP 5
Bantwal:
Total 23: BJP 10, Congress 11, Muslim League 2
Puttur:
Total 27: BJP 15, Congress 12
Town Panchayat Elections:

Total 23: BJP and JD(S) combine leading with 12 seats, with BJP winning 4 Wards and JD(S) 8 Wards.
Congress has managed to bag only 11 seats.
Karkala :
Total 23 Wards : Congress has won 13 Wards, BJP 9 Wards and Independent just one seat.
Beltangady :
Total 11 Wards: Congress has won 7 Wards whereas JD (S) has won 4 Wards.
A unique feature of this contest was that two brothers were pitted against each other, namely Vasant Bangera, ex-JDS minister contesting on Congress ticket against his own kin namely Prabhakar Bangera of the BJP. The latter Prabhakar Bangera lost the elections.

Total seats 18. Congress and Allies 9 (6 won on Congress symbol, two independents and a lone JD(S) winner) and BJP 9.
