Ponda: Roadside Structures Make Way for Wider Roads

Margao, Sep 30: After the Arlem-Borim highway-side compounds and other structures were razed down by the Margao civic authorities to widen the road, now the Ponda Municipality has taken step to demolish the road side structures in the city for same reason.

Over last two days, Ponda municipal stafs were busy demolishing the structures marked earlier for the purpose. When these workers started their work, people raise a hue and cry and criticized the government authorities since they were not intimated about the action in advance.

The Ponda Municipal staff along with Police officials managed get their work done.

According to the information given by government officials, this action is taken to construct the roadside footpaths, as they are no proper footpaths in city, because of which pedestrians face hardships while walkinga around.

About eight compounds and other structures were demolished.
