Panaji, Sep 30: The Goa police training school (GPTS) located in remote Sattari taluka was hit by lightning on Sunday injuring three trainees.

"All three woman trainees escaped with minor injuries while one of the rooms of the institute was completely damaged,’’ Vishram Borkar, principal, GPTS stated.

The incident occurred at 5 on Sunday evening when the trainees were relaxing in the school.

Sattari taluka has been receiving continous rain for last four days with low-lying areas inundated in water.

"All three girls were kept under observation for an hour and sent back," Borkar said.

The school has 86 girls and 246 boys, recruited in Goa police services, undergoing training there.
