BSF recovers three kg heroin in Punjab


Chandigarh, March 23 (IANS): BSF troopers have recovered three kg of heroin along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab's Ferozepur sector, an officials said on Wednesday.

The heroin was recovered near the New Gazniwala border out post, nearly 300 km from here. The contraband was buried near a tubewell.

The recovery was made following a specific tip, Border Security Force Deputy Inspector General (DIG) R.S. Kataria said.

The BSF also recovered two Pakistani SIM cards from the spot.

The heroin is valued at Rs.15 crore in the international market.
