Akhilesh announces new facilities for Vrindavan widows


Lucknow, Mar 24 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced a host of facilities for destitutes, widows living in Vrindavan, an official said on Thursday.

Among other things in these ashrams, where at least 1,500 widows live, RO water purifying systems, centralised solar water heaters, solar power plant and water coolers for rooms would be provided.

The official said the facilities would be installed at the earliest and added that these were being done in sync with the socialist ideologies of the Samajwadi party (SP) government.

It was also pointed out that renovation work at many such widow homes was underway and at some places, it was completed.
