Chinese PM offers condolences to Brussels terror victims


Beijing, Mar 24 (IANS): Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang on Thursday expressed his deep condolences to the victims of the bomb attacks in Brussels, stressing that China firmly opposes terrorism in all forms.

Li made the statement at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) in south China's Hainan Province, an event in which Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel was scheduled to participate, Xinhua news agency reported.

Chinese foreign ministry on Wednesday announced that Michel had cancelled his planned visit to China in order to deal with emergency affairs in Belgium.

At least 34 people were killed in two attacks in Brussels International Airport and on a rush-hour subway train in the Belgian capital on Tuesday. Besides, over 200 people were injured.
