Udupi, Oct 1:  The Karavali Sand Sculptors' team created a sand sculpture on Malpe Beach near here, with a view to creating awareness about World Heart Day, which was observed on Sunday, September 30.

The sculpture resembled a human face which was in the shape of a heart. On the eastern side of the sculpture, the head of the person had a sculpted face on which a dragon was shown coming out of a bottle.

Another dragon was shown on the ear of the person and the title given to the sculpture was ‘Protect Me’.

The sculptors who engaged themselves in this handiwork are Shrinath, resident of Manipal, Venki, resident of Palimar, Ravi, resident of Hirebettu and Manjunath Katpady.

Srinath said that the face of the person that is sculpted resembles the heart which has been coloured red.  To make the people aware, the dragon, highlighted in green colour, is shown coming out of the bottle. The bottle represents alcohol which tells the people to keep away from alcohol. Another dragon that is shown coming out of the ear is to create awareness among people to shun bad habits.
