Bangalore: Mount Carmel Stands First in 'Rang de 2006'

Bangalore, Oct 1: Mount carmel college bagged the best design collection Intercollegiate competition ' Rang de 2006' organized by the Baldwin Women Methodist College in this Garden City here. The runner-up is Aacharya Institute of Fashion Technology.
The Mount Carmel students presented very colourful traditional designs, soft thin clothes and contrast look to the audience. The college students as models gave their creativity and new-look presention .
Fashion and Apparel design course at Baldwin women's Methodist college, since its inception in 2002, has progressed and grown in strength and creative potential, catapulting the attention and interest of the young enthusiastic and aspiring students, offering adequate space and scope to identify.
They experiment and display their creativity in inimitable styles, multifarious hues and shapes, defying the challenges that the changing fashion world is demanding today.
'Rang de 2006', a splash of colours, was a splurge of creativity of the designers. The fashion extravaganza unfurled the their creative surge. The shows had eminent and worthy dignitaries like fashion guru Prasad Bidapa and Dr Ninge Gowda, and director of Fashion and Apparel Design Department, Bangalore University and Vidya Sagar, fashion designer.
Their presence and valuable criticism was a learning experience for the students. In its continuance, 'Rang de' will now witness a repository of talents, an intringuing visual delight and an insight into the multitudinous collection.

2. Most practical collection - Swarna Koti
3. Best accesorized collection - Sudha Srinivas
4. Most creative collection - Asra Fatima
