Win against Germany finest night as England manager: Hodgson

Berlin, March 27 (IANS): England coach Roy Hodgson has termed his side's 3-2 comeback win against World Cup holders Germany as his "finest night as England manager".

Germany dictated the pace for more than sixty minutes and established a 2-0 lead through Toni Kroos and Mario Goetze here on Saturday.

However, England turned the tables in the second half, courtesy goals from Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier and won 3-2.

"Having admitted somewhat reluctantly that this is my best night as England manager, we don't want to forget that this team are a work in progress," said Hodgson after the match.

"We must remain humble in these moments.”

The coach said they have a long way to go still before they can claim to be a powerhouse like Germany.

"It is a friendly game and we have got an awful long way to go before we can claim to be anything like Germany with all they have achieved," Hodgson said.
