Military chiefs of 34 Islamic countries vow to dry up terrorism

Riyadh, Mar 28 (IANS) : Military chiefs of 34 Islamic countries vowed on Sunday to dry up the resources of terrorism, Al Arabiya News reported.

The chiefs of staff of member states in an Islamic military coalition against terrorism made the pledge during their first meeting in Riyadh.

The meeting discussed "ideological, media, financial and military" aspects to combat terrorism, spokesman for the alliance Brig. Gen. Ahmed Assiri said.

The spokesman said the attendance of 39 Muslim nations, not all of which were members of the alliance, "sends a strong message on importance and nature of the alliance," adding that the force is needed in the face of the Islamic State group.

The meeting aims to draw up a unified strategy against terrorism, he said, adding that Saudi Arabia presented a paper to follow the resources of terrorism funding.

He emphasizes that the coalition will work in line with the international law and standards.

The coalition was announced in December last year by Saudi Defence minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a bid to establish a unified Muslim body to fight terrorism.

It started through the establishment of a joint operations centre in Riyadh.

It is because of such attitude from authorities that terrorism flourishes in these countries, Aim should be improve quality of lie, education and provide plurality and not bring more draconian measures!! India, for all its faults and problems, still provides a better example than these countries.. Unfortunately, they are more of tribal mentality rather than modern democracy.

And they ask us to believe. Out of 34 Islamic countries 24 countries themselves are either have terrorist govt or strong support from the terrorist to survive. Now who is going to bell the cat. It rather a dram to fool the people of the world than genuine effort. Jagave FEKU maya.

All world leaders (without religious base) get unite ad fight against all kind of terrorist organization. All religious teach us Peace & Prosperous so whoever doing terrorism activities in the name of God then they are definitely Devils followers. We need to Massacred such type of groups for that we need to unite first.
in Holy Quran Clear instructed "“Whoever kills a person [unjustly]…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.” (Qur’an, 5:32)" if any Muslim not following the rules of Quran verses then how can we called him as "Muslim" also they rejected faith of Quran. it means name sake muslims also big threat of Islam.

Good step... I hope even the non-Islamic countries also support this initiative and stop backing rebels or Asad in Syria and end the war. And very important thing don't elect any mindless president like Trump who may attack any country to look for weapons of mass destruction.

That's true, but everybody fights their own battle and fights for their own interest.
Collective battle would have been better but it's rare. Generally people doesn't feel others pain and are concerned with their own business.

I think it's a great step by 34 Islamic countries, may be God has spoken to them.
Despite hopeless situations prevailing in so many places, efforts must always be made and encouraged, to identify the wrongs in one's life and society, and remove them for better tomorrow.
Great strength lies confession and redemption.
Self correction mechanism works in this universe, many a times after causing great destruction.
