Mangaluru: World Theatre Day celebrated at Kalaangann

Mangaluru, Mar 29: Kalakul Theatre Repertory in association with its mother body Mandd Sobhann had organised a one-day celebration of ‘World Theatre Day-2016’, on Monday, March 28 at Kalaangann. 59 drama enthusiasts had participated in the celebration.




Basuma Kodagu, renowned drama and cinema director, inaugurated the Celebrations. Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario, President Louis Pinto, Kalakul Administrator Arun Raj Rodrigues and chief trainer Christopher D’Souza Neenasam, were present on stage. Frivita D’Souza managed the proceedings.

‘Katha Rang’, a unique experiment by the Kalakul theatre repertory, was presented on the occasion, which was followed by an interaction with Basuma Kodagu. The full-day celebration included – information about the skills of acting, training in street plays, games related to acting and presentation of a short film.

The participants presented a street play prior to the concluding ceremony. Certificates were awarded to all the participants. The celebrations which began at 9.30 am concluded at 5.30 pm.
