Before seeking pistol licence, ensure toilet at home in MP

Neemach (Madhya Pradesh), Mar 30 (IANS): In a novel initiative, police in Madhya Pradesh's Neemach district have asked people to ensure they have toilets at home before applying for licences of pistols or passports.

The move has been introduced as part of cleanliness drive launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that requires discouraging people from defecating in the open. People giving proof of a toilet at their home would be eligible to get licence for pistols and passport, Police Superintendent Rakesh Sagar told IANS.

Since the requests for such licences or passports come from well off or reputed people of society, they will be compelled to ensure toilets at home to send a positive message in society, the official added.
