Cold front to hit China with snow, plunging mercury

Beijing, Mar 31 (IANS): A strong cold front will bring heavy rain and snow to some parts of central and east China, plunging temperatures over the next three days, the national observatory forecast on Thursday.

The cold spell will lower temperatures in Inner Mongolia region as well as north and northeast China, with some parts expecting heavy snow or blizzards for the coming three days, the National Meteorological Centre said.

Temperatures will fall by eight to 10 degrees Celsius, with the most hit regions likely to see temperature drop over 12 degrees Celsius, Xinhua news agency reported.

Regions along the Yellow and Huaihe rivers will experience heavy rains and temperature drop of up to eight degrees Celsius during the period, the met centre said.
