Rajbala Verma is new Chief secretary of Jharkhand


Ranchi, March 31 (IANS): Rajbala Verma, a 1983 batch Indian Administrative Service officer, has been appointed the new Chief secretary of Jharkhand, said an official statement.

Verma succeds Rajiv Gauba, who moves to urban development department of the central government. 

Until her new appointment, Verma was additional chief secretary in charge of the road department. 

Verma is the second woman to have become the chief secretary of Jharkhand.
