Mangaluru, Mar 31: Durga Facility Management Services Pvt Ltd was adjudged amongst the ‘Top 100 Best SMEs in India’ for the year 2016 and was conferred 'Skoch Order-of-Merit' after going through a large number of nominations and presentations. The award was presented by K T Rama Rao, minister of IT, Government of Telengana during the 43rd Skoch Summit on March 18 at India Constitution Club Of India, New Delhi.
This credit goes to all their staff for their sincere efforts and to their clients who have supported them through their valuable suggestions and guidance right from the inception of this establishment. This award is based on the nomination given by Corporation Bank, Kankanady Branch for best performing MSME entrepreneurs on behalf of their branch. Their nomination was shortlisted for an evaluation presentation to the jury on March 2, 2016 at New Delhi.
About Skoch Award:
Coveted for their independence and exceptional research, Skoch Award is distinctive for its approach in selection of awardees.
The Skoch Award is known to follow the most rigorous process of selection. Nominations found to be complete in all respects are put through secondary research by the awards secretariat. These are then recommended to the awards committee for further evaluation. Only those approved by the awards committee are invited to make a presentation to the jury, which evaluates each project on its merits of 'what changed' with absolute scores - without making comparisons of any sort. While jury marks each of these projects, even the peer group of the nominees is invited to evaluate each project and mark these accordingly. The top-scoring projects make it to the Skoch Order-of-Merit. A shortlist of awardees is drawn from the Order-of-Merit recipients who are invited to receive the Skoch Award in an exclusive awards function, which is presided over by a distinguished dignitary.
About the establishment:
Sri Durga Hospitality Services began in 2003 with housekeeping activities and employee deployment services for 17 employees. On April 25, 2007 the firm emerged as Durga Facility Management Services Pvt Ltd and was incorporated under Companies Act 1956, starting full fledged services relating to facility management. Their core value lies in the commitment to provide quality-centered, cost-effective delivery of service. Presently they employ approximately 650 employees with services in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Hubbali and Bagalkot.
They are the first facility management company in South Canara to obtain ISO certificate in the year 2007 for mechanized housekeeping, F & B and Employee deployment Services. They have obtained BCAS clearance from Bureau of Civil Aviation Security for providing ground handling services at Mangaluru International Airport.
They are also proud to inform that they are a qualified empanelled agency to compete in `A’ category airports across India among few other agencies. For the past 5 years customer satisfaction rating for cleanliness of Mangaluru Airport terminal is more than 95%. They are one of the top 50 service tax payers among service providers at Mangaluru division. In addition to providing services to private corporate companies, they are an approved contractor for airports, railways and state road transports.
It is to be noted that they employ the less privileged who are really in need of employment. They train, motivate and empower them on technical skills to develop at a professional level. They also provide part time employment with free accommodation which helps them to continue their education.
As a CSR initiative, they have conducted training for students at Government School situated in Shamboor, Bantwal. Students are given training on waste management and importance of cleaning activities. They have donated modern cleaning machines and equipment to the school.
