Puttur, Apr 1: Dakshina Kannada district BJP has said that getting his name printed in the invitation to the car festival of Lord Mahalingeshwara temple here has been one of several wrong things with which the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district was involved.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday March 31, district BJP general secretary, Sanjeeva Matandoor, alleged that after A B Ibrahim took over as the deputy commissioner of the district, he had allotted land belonging to Hindu cremation grounds and also temples to people belonging to other religions by citing different reasons. He said that because of the policy of tolerance followed by Hindus, no disturbances had taken place. He alleged that district in-charge minister and Congress MLAs have been supporting the district administration in their plots to whip up communal sentiments.

He stated that the high court had given value to the  sentiments of the temple devotees in ordering to print annual festival invitations afresh.

Matandoor said that question papers leakages have been exhibiting the strength of the government, and mocked at the government, saying that they might need police vans to transport question papers. He branded the state government as the worst government where officials and rulers have no mutual lunderstanding.

He said that his party would be launching an agitation in the district for a month since Friday, seeking to vest Kumki rights with the farmers, which will continue for a month. He said that meetings of Kumhi land holders will be held in all 230 villages in Dakshina Kannada district, ending with rally demanding Kumki rights near the office of the deputy commissioner.l

BJP district secretaries, Shylaja K G, Boodiyar Radhakrishna Rai, and spokesperson, R C Narayan, were present.
