Mangaluru, Apr 2: Daijiworld readers can now look forward to delightful doses of humour. Renowned cartoonist Satish Acharya, who enjoys a vast audience throughout the country, will now be contributing his works to daijiworld.com too.
Starting April 1, Satish Acharya's cartoons can be found in the cartoon section at the bottom of Daijiworld's home page.
Based in Kundapur, Acharya is one of the leading cartoonists in India. He has the uncanny knack of finding humour in the most drab situations and turning an ordinary bit of happening into comedy. But it is not just humour that Acharya brings out in his cartoons - many a time, his works given an insight and portray the truth in all its nakedness.
Acharya completed his studies from Bhandarkar's College and Mangalore University in Konaje. He is a self-taught cartoonist who quit MBA to pursue his passion for cartooning. He has admirers all over the social media, and his blog alone has thousands of followers. His clients include, apart from daijiworld.com, Mid-Day, ESPNcricinfo, Sify.com, Santabanta and many others.
His cartoons have won him name and fame nationally and internationally. He was named by the prestigious Forbes Magazine in the list of leading personalities who have spread India's excellence through their imagination and thought processes. His cartoon on Charlie Hebdo attack in France was featured among the most powerful by several international publications. Last year, he won the prestigious Maya Kamath Memorial Award for Excellence in Political Cartooning for his cartoon on Baba Ramdev.
