Mangaluru: Pana Education introduces ‘Pana Own’ learning methodology

Media Release

Mangaluru, Apr 2: City based Pana Education is introducing ‘Pana Own’, its own unique learning methodology which will go hand in hand with the regular curriculum.

Announcing this at a press meet held at its campus on Thursday March 31, Dr Prasad Hegde, chairman of the institution said the new learning methodology has been painstakingly designed by Spread Education & Consulting (India) Pvt Ltd, with guidance from subject experts of Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru.

“The traditional methodology relies too heavily on lecture based teaching, which students find very tedious. Our new methodology integrates experiential learning and design philosophy with NCERT syllabus,” said Dr Prasad Hegde. “In this system the student is exposed to an experience and then derives his or her own learning from it. In the process, the student learns to ask questions, to think, analyze, understand and present the knowledge gained.”

Hence learning stays with the learner for life as it is internally generated, based on life experience, Dr Hegde added. ‘Pana Own’ is the institution’s branding of this newly developed methodology.

Sonia Manchanda of Spread Education & Consulting said the new educational methodology devised for Pana enables the child to develop an open mind and become one with knowledge. “Most new institutions focus only on building physical infrastructure. I must appreciate the fact that Pana Education is giving so much more importance to educational methodology, which is at the core of education,” she said.

Situated in a pristine campus spanning 60 acres at Kolumbe village behind Mangaluru International Airport, the institution presently offers pre-university programmes in science and commerce streams. It plans to introduce arts stream too. The institution’s flagship, the Pana International School will commence in the coming year, Dr Prasad Hegde said.

Shamkumar Shetty, CEO and Suyasha Shetty, director of Pana Education were present on the occasion.
