Delhi records season's hottest morning


New Delhi, April 3 (IANS): The national capital witnessed the hottest morning of the season till date on Sunday, with the minimum temperature of 24.8 degree celsius, six notches above the season's average. It may rain in the evening.

The Met Office has forecast the temperature to soar up in the coming days. The maximum temperature of the day is likely to hover around 40 degree celsius.

"Today's minimum temperature is the highest of the season till now. It is likely to soar up in the coming days," said an India Meteorological Department official.

The sky is likely to turn partly cloudy in the afternoon with chances of light rain showers at some places in the evening, the official added.

Humidity was recorded 58 percent at 8.30 a.m.

The capital city, on Saturday, witnessed the maximum temperature at 38.9 degree celsius, five notches above the season's average while the minimum temperature settled at 21.5 degree celsius, three notches above the season's average.
