Technical snag hits metro services on Blue Line

New Delhi, April 4 (IANS): Commuters of Delhi Metro trains on the Blue Line (Dwarka sector 21 to Noida City Centre/Vaishali) had a harrowing time on Monday as the trains got delayed due to a technical snag.

"There was some problem with the track circuit on the Blue Line. Due to that, the trains were running at restricted speed. But the problem has been rectified now," a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesperson told IANS.

"Trains were running at restricted speed on Line 3 (due to Track Circuit Failure) and Line 6 (train motoring issue) leading to bunching. Services are now becoming normal as the bunching is cleared," the official added.

The problem lasted from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., causing a huge rush at the metro stations.

"There was a ruckus at Noida Sector 16 metro station. Hundreds of passengers were stuck at the exit doors. I was already late for office and it took me another 15 minutes to exit the station," said Rajiv, one of the commuters.
