Udupi, Oct 7: Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, superintendent of police of Udupi district, who had taken over from earlier SP S Murugan in May 2006 on his transfer from Madikeri, has been posted to Bidar as SP there.
Since his successor has not been named yet, he handed over the charge to Karkala DSP.
Dr Rao was known for some tough steps he had taken to maintain law and order.
