Beltangady, Apr 6: A case stands filed in Dharmasthala police station against Prakash (22) from Neroltapalike in Bandaru village. Prakash has been charged with raping a minor girl from Shibaje village, and provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences act have been invoked against him.
The police, who filed the case on Thursday April 5, said that the minor girl was residing with the family of her relatives at Neroltapalike in Bandaru village since sometime. As per the complaint, the youth had raped the girl a few months back.
The victim has become pregnant, and stands admitted into a hospital at Beltangady. Police sub-inspector of Dharmasthala station, Sudhakar Tonse, has been investigating the case.
