Mangalore, Oct 8: Anwar Manippady has threatened to go hammer and tongs against JD(S) leaders including Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for ousting him unceremoniously from post of chairman of the Karnataka State Minorities Commission (KSMC) for second time in a row.

Anwar Manipady says they attempted to gag him and later removed him fearing his no-nonsense attitude. ‘‘What love do they have on minorities when they have been looting money from Minorities Commi ssion,’’ Anwer Manippady asked indignantly.

Assuming charge as chairman of the Minorities Commission, he had initiated an internal auditing. The audit report identifying huge misappropriation of funds released by the government and the National Minorities Development Commission (NMDC) would be submitted to Lokayukta Chief Justice Santosh Hegde, he said.

Manipady alleged that Iqbal Ansari had misappropriated funds to the tune of Rs 3.85 crore. A sum of Rs 27 crore was utilised for construction of borewells for poor Muslims. However, they found no borewells in Raichur, Hassan among other places, he said.

The JD(S) ministers’ attempts to divert Rs 3 crore from the Commission to Bellary was also scuttled, he claimed. ‘‘They tried to lure me with promises. But I spurned their offers because I am a soldier of the Sangh Parivar,’’ he declared.
