Peace process with India suspended, says Pakistan envoy Abdul Basit

New Delhi, Apr 07 (NDTV): Pakistan's envoy today said for the first time that "peace process with India has been suspended".

Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit made the comment amid a row over the Pathankot terror attack at the start of this year and a Pakistani team's visit to India to investigate the attack.

"The visit of the Pakistani probe team to Pathankot is not about reciprocity," Mr Basit said in more controversial remarks, effectively ruling out a return visit by India's National Investigation Agency.

India has repeatedly said the Pakistan Joint Investigation Team was allowed to come with the understanding that Indian investigators would also be allowed to go to Pakistan.

@Rk Moodbidri: Actually you have to sit and analyse this matter. It is not like France matter. There is no attack here and when there is attack I am sure everyone will be behind the government. What happened here is total failure of policy from the government. The government did not even consulted with opposition parties before inviting Pakistan including ISI which is behind all attacks on Indian soil to one of our most important airbase near the border. Do you think it is joke? Do you invite your enemy to come and check your house, mails, bank balance and your weakness and think that he will allow you to do the same?? How this PM who said before the elections that he will be very tough on Pakistan can even believe that Pakistan that it will allow Indian intelligence to gather information within Pakistani soil?? It is foolish that the government allowed our enemy country to study our airbase which is near the border and which is already once attacked by the same enemy's chamchas. We talk too much about America for interfering in Indian politics but remember America never attacked India but it is Pakistan and in fact America helped us in 1962 against China when our friend USSR did not. So, the comments are NOT against India or its jawaans but the foolish government headed by Nikamba (remember LK Advani?)PM.

Keeping "World's Most Wanted Terrorist" at it's own backyard and cracking stupid Pakistani jokes to the World "We are the victims of terrorism" reflects, what kind of devilish and terrorist nurture state Pakistan is and talks about 'Peace'.Guess,Pakistan even doesn't know the meaning of 'Peace' nor have in it's culture.

It is a shame to every Indians of this country the way the Pakistan Policy has been handled by the PM in his own way. Before lok sabha election he used strong words against pakistan and after election without any notice went to Pakistan to create an impression that he can single handedly manage the foreign affairs of pakistan thereby making a fool of himself that within 7 days we had a terrorist attack and then that attack turned out to be staged managed as per Pakistan Investigation. Thereafter pakistan refused to allow our investigators into their soil and now the peace process has been grounded. This is a slap on every indian. Time has come to throw out BJP completely from power. Our PM instead of governing is busy electioneering in Bengal. He has enough time to travel abroad and introduce unwanted schemes, goes for electioneering when he should not do thereby reducing the dignity of PM and he has no time to govern India. We expected governance since May 2014 but nothing is there zero governance.

Shankar Dabur Amla, you PM Modi is a seasoned politician, of course what you said was right - he sold more lies than he sold tea in last 3 years, he has done everything opposite of what he promised as PM candidate, corruption has increased drastically under BJP rule in every state, even drought they cannot handle and BJP leaders say it is the will of god. We don't need a shrude, stupid, brainless, uneducated and anti intellectual PM but we need a PM who is well educated and can handle economic policies and foreign policies very well. Of course his plan for pakistan has gone for a toss and now you say he has further plans. What single agenda he made with Bangladesh can you spell it out. He goes out of India and introduces "Make in India" and after 2 years it is "stand up India" and in another 1 year it will "Wake up India" and thereafter "Get up India" and so on. Keep your crap of PM Modi to yourself.
