Two civilians injured in Kashmir grenade attack


Srinagar, April 8 (IANS): At least two civilians were injured in Bijbehara town of Kashmir on Friday when militants lobbed a grenade at an army convoy.

"Militants hurled a grenade at a passing army convoy in Goriwan (Bijbehara) town on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on Friday," a senior police official told IANS here.

"The grenade exploded on the road and injured two civilians, who have been shifted to the hospital."

Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was suspended for some time as the security forces mounted search operation to track the militants.
