Kasargod: Youth from Bihar dies after being hit by train at Kumble

Kasargod, Apr 9: In a tragic incident, a youth from Bihar died after he was hit by a passing train at Kumble on Thursday, April 7. He was walking on railway tracks while speaking on his mobile.

The deceased has been identified as Mohan Shah (29) who was employed in the road tarring work at Kumble.

Sources said that he was walking on railway tracks near Kumble Peruvad on Thursday night, April 7. As he was speaking on the mobile, he did not see the approaching train from behind. He was found seriously injured on the tracks by his colleagues who came searching for him as he did not reach his residence even after a long time.

He was rushed to Mangaluru hospital but died on Friday April 8 without responding to treatment.

Kumble police have registered a case.

    Mobile can save life and also cause life to end.Here more because of negligence.Talking on mobile at dangerous places,neglecting everything whereabouts is a big mistake he did.(and others too).why rail track to go home or working place?No other ways to walk?Noone noticed he was hit by Train?strange.May his Soul rest in peace.

    Mohan is the cause for his own death. He should not have been on his mobile phone while walking on a railway track. Many lives have been last while some idiots were on mobile phones and were killed by cars and trains. RIP.

    7 pm means night then train must have head light so why he can't noticed the train reaching to him.

    People forget the whole world while talking in mobiles whether walking on the road side, crossing the road or while driving. Exposing themselves to the near miss accidents also causing nuisance to other road users.

    Should ban mobiles in working places.
    Always it turned to fatal. People forget themselves fully while on mobile..especially when they are too far from the family.
