Udupi, Apr 9: Praveen Joshi a devotee of Lord Krishna and managing director of Joshi Agro Industries donated Rs 1.75 lac towards cost of solid water filtration machine to Sri Krishna math on Saturday April 9.

After the pooja on the machine Sri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji of Pejawar math said, "I have approached Joshi on the problem of water contamination. The water is used for their bathing purpose and not for pooja rituals. He urged them to ensure cleaniness of Madhwa Sarovara."

On Rathosthsava nights, floating festival or Teppothsava takes place in the pond wherein the swamijis and students have their bath thereby polluting the water. In order to prevent contamination of water the machine is installed near Madhwa Sarovara for recycling to take place.

According to Joshi, there are three types of filters namely cyclonic filter, sand filter and disc filter. The different filtration models are available between Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lac, depending on their quality and capacity. Filtration separates algae from water, 2% of polluted water is eliminated into the gutter. The capacity of this water tank is 50,000 liters. It runs twelve hours a day.

Junior seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Swamiji was present at the installation.
