The police department is likely to make an announcement about this arrest in a day or two. As suspicion arose during the questioning about the involvement of Yuva Brigade leader, Naresh Shenoy, in the murder, the police had served lookout notice against Shiva, Srikant, and Naresh Shenoy.
Shiva (28), a resident of Panjimogaru, was arrested at Uppinangady bus stand, it is learnt.
The police have since questioned both Vinith and Nishith for the second time after seeking their custody in the case. Reportedly, they have asserted that Srikant had hired the contract killers, and Shiva was the one who executed the murder plan.
The police are now hunting for the other accused, Srikant. There are many theories making the rounds relating to the murder of Baliga as he reportedly had earned the ire of several bigwigs who wield both monetary and political clout by exposing violations committed by them.
