Politicians pay tribute to Ambedkar on his birth anniversary


New Delhi, Apr 14 (IANS): Political leaders on Thursday paid their tributes to B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of India's Constitution, on his 125th birth anniversary.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah posted on Twitter: "Tribute to the pioneer of democratic India and architect of the Indian Constitution Baba Saheb Ambedkar on his 125th birth anniversary."

Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu tweeted: "Tributes to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 125th birth anniversary. Let us follow the path shown by great icon."

Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi posted: "On his birth anniversary, tributes to 'Father of Indian Constitution' Baba Saheb Ambedkar, who dedicated his life for social justice and equality."

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari wrote: "Tributes on the 125th birth anniversary of 'jewel of the world' Dr. Baba Ambedkar Saheb."

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: "Tribute to the architect of the Constitution Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 125th birth anniversary."

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar posted: "Heartiest greetings to every one on the Ambedkar Jayanti. Today all of us should pledge to follow the principles of social justice and equality tought by Baba Saheb."

Born on April 14, 1891 to Bhimabai Sakpal and Ramji in Madhya Pradesh, Ambedkar died on December 6, 1956.
