Real Madrid drawn against Man City, Bayern face Atletico in Champions' League

Nyon (Switzerland), April 15 (IANS): Spanish football royalty Real Madrid will play England's Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals, according to the draw held on Friday.

The first leg will take place in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium on April 26, with the return leg in Spain's capital on May 4.

Manchester City are playing in the Champions League semi-finals for the first time while their opponents, Real Madrid, are record 10-time European champions.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini is due to leave Man City this season and will face his former club Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

German champions Bayern Munich will face Spain's Atletico Madrid, who beat defending champions FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals.

Pellegrini could potentially face his successor at City, Pep Guardiola, in the final if both City and Bayern were to progress.

The final takes place at Milan's San Siro Stadium on May 28.

In the Europa League, Liverpool will face Spain's Villareal while Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine take on Sevilla.

Villarreal, who are fourth in La Liga, have beaten both the Madrid sides and drawn with Barcelona at home in the league, and have already knocked out top clubs Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen in the tournament.

The first leg is on April 28 with the second leg to be held on May 5.

The Europa League final will be played at Basel, Switzerland, on May 18.
